Heybrook Lookout is a short and moderately steep hike through a fern and moss covered forest to a fun, staircase-ridden lookout with great views of the nearby mountains. There has been a lookout at this location since 1925 with each lookout getting a little taller. I counted 105 steps, but every guide I can find suggests there are only 89 steps to the top. This is also a place you can reserve and spend a night there. Be sure to check back on November 1st when reservations begin to open in May 2023. |
